We are delighted to announce the 8th OE4BW Eduscope, taking place online on November 18 and 19, 2025. This annual event celebrates the culmination of the 2025 OE4BW Mentoring Programme and showcases an inspiring collection of Open Educational Resource (OER) projects developed by educators and innovators from around the world.
This year’s Eduscope will bring together 155 individuals from 36 countries, including mentors, hub coordinators, project developers, and open education advocates. Together, they represent the growing global community working to make education more inclusive, equitable, and accessible through open education.
What’s on the agenda?
Eduscope 2025 features an engaging two-day programme with 2 keynote speeches and presentations of 53 innovative OER projects developed across OE4BW’s thematic hubs, including Education and Pedagogy, Sustainability, Health and Well-Being, Artificial Intelligence, and Youth Initiatives.
The event opens with welcoming remarks from:
- Mitja Jermol (UNESCO Chair on Open Technologies for OER and Open Learning),
- Dr. Imre Cikajlo (University of Nova Gorica),
- Veronika Stabej (Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs), and
- Reka Tozsa (Asia-Europe Foundation)
- Dr Vasudha Kamat, Chairperson, Governing Board, at Consortium of Educational Communication
- Dr Jayashree Shinde, Head, Department of Educational Technology & Director, MMTTC-UGC, at SNDT Women’s University, Mumbai
Keynotes
AI and the Commons, Jennryn Wetzler, Director of Learning and Training, Creative Commons
Jennryn will explore how AI systems rely on our shared knowledge commons and how Creative Commons is working to ensure that those who benefit most from shared resources also contribute to sustaining them. She will discuss the evolving landscape of AI, licensing, and knowledge sharing in the public interest.
Dissemination, Adaptation, and Ongoing Curation: The Roles of Sustainable OER Repositories, Justin Shorb, LibreTexts
Justin will discuss how open repositories can support the continued growth, relevance, and sustainability of OER through curation, adaptation, and dissemination.
OER Project Presentations
Throughout the two days, participants will explore 53 projects developed under the guidance of experienced mentors and thematic hub coordinators. Each presentation will feature a short video pitch followed by a live discussion between developers and mentors, highlighting innovative solutions in teaching, sustainability, inclusivity, digital literacy, and ethical AI.
Projects range from AI-enhanced academic writing and accessible STEM OERs for bilingual educators, to climate education initiatives, health and well-being resources, and youth-led sustainability projects. Each contributes to the shared goal of advancing UNESCO’s Recommendations on OER and the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 4 – Quality Education.
