ABOUT
Welcome to the second edition of the Open Education Design Workshop
University of Nova Gorica (UNG) and UNESCO Chair on Open Technologies for OER and Open Learning at the Jožef Stefan Institute (JSI) organised Open Education Design Workshop, which took place from July 1-4, 2019 in Lanthieri mansion in Vipava, Slovenia. During the 4-day workshop, the participants got basic knowledge about open education concepts, about pedagogical and didactic issues as well as about content related issues in open education.
Main track titled Course for Practitioners equipped the participants with basic knowledge, practical advice and hands-on experience to prepare them for their own design of Open Educational Resources (OER). They learned from OER experts and OE4BW mentees who presented their projects.
Second track titled Energy, Society and Open Education was a multi-stakeholder panel discussion that brought together representatives from the energy and educational ecosystem, including industry, research and policy-making.
Third track titled Industry Day provided answers to how OER can help in current challenges in companies and human resource management.
A special track titled Slovenian Open Educational Library presented results and challenges in developing OER projects by Slovenian Elementary and Secondary school teachers. The event took place on Wednesday, June 26, 2019 at the Ministry of Education, Science and Sports premises. It was held in Slovenian language.
This workshop builds upon and extends the scope of the last year’s successful Open Education Design – Course for Practitioners.
